Stand 5
This area had a few scattered trees in the 1930 photo. The overstory (upper layer) of the forest cover in this stand consists of scattered pole to small sawtimber-sized red oak, black walnut, and black cherry. The understory has some native shrubs such as dogwood, and non-native undesirable shrubs such as exotic honeysuckle and multi-flora rose.


Stand 6
This area had some large looking trees in the 1930 photo. The overstory (upper layer) of the forest cover in this stand consists of scattered large-sized white oak and a few small sawtimber-sized shagbark hickory. The understory (lower layer) consists of scattered seedling to sapling-sized elm, black cherry, white ash, and non-native tree-of-heaven. The understory has some native shrubs such as gooseberry, and non-native undesirable shrubs such as exotic honeysuckle, barberry, and buckthorn. Another significant non-native plant found on the forest floor of this stand is garlic mustard (Alliaria petiolata).



Stand 7
This area has a few scattered trees in the 1930 photo. This is a drainage area in the north portion of the park. It is a narrow band of trees including boxelder, mulberry, willow, and a few oak, black walnut, and black cherry. The understory has some native shrubs such as dogwood, and non-native undesirable shrubs such as exotic honeysuckle and multi-flora rose.

Stand 8
The majority of this field was open in the 1930 photo, with a few trees in the center and along the east fence row. This is mostly a thicket of dogwood and non-native autumn olive, and scattered sapling to pole-sized trees like honeylocust, black cherry, Eastern redcedar, and a few oak. There a few larger oak along the east edge.
