Friends of Hickory Hill Park (FHHP), with the help of approximately 25 energetic volunteers,
seeded the 6-ac prairie area on Sat., Jan., 14th, 2006. I can happily report that the seeding was
a big success and everyone looked to have a grand time. FHHP used seed grown in Central Iowa
(local ecotype) from Carl Kurtz's prairie in St. Anthony, IA. FHHP wants
to set a precedent by
using local ecotype seed. A link to the species list is HERE.
