Friends of Hickory Hill Park conducted two prescribed burns, one on November 12th and the other 26th, to prepare the future prairie for a seeding.
Two burns were needed to consume 80% of the fuel, include all the old brush piles.

Dave Schmidt & Paul Comes (UIowa Environmental Sciences student) patrol the western fireline ensuring no escapes.

Kelsey Bruns & a DI Reporter patrol the southern fireline ensuring no escapes.

An unidentified member of the public watches the "big burn pile" go up in smoke.

Christiane Knorr maintains the black.

Hurray, the end of "long burn pile".
